While Clint's intention had been to talk to Sally the night before, by the time he got to the room it was late, he was actually tired and felt like sleeping so he had postponed the talk to the following morning. So by the time morning came he was sitting in the common room of his and Sally's room, waiting for her to come out.
All through the night he had tried to think of what to say. And the words still hadn't come but he needed to tell Sally he was switching rooms. He just needed to express clearly that it had nothing to do with her. Sally was a great roommate and Clint had every intention of remaining friends with her. But the night of the 8th had proven to Clint that he and Natasha needed each other, feelings aside. That night, just having her near and knowing she was there had calmed his mind more than the sleeping draught had.
But, there was also the fact of their feelings. If what Natasha had said was true, then she had been in love with him for a while now. Clint already knew he had been in love with her but had been denying his feelings given how hard Natasha was to read on such things. Pushing those thoughts away, he waited for Sally.
