Not only was Kirk there, but so was Spock. The idea of a month separated from everyone back home seemed silly to be upset about, but Uhura had started to veer toward being homesick. The principal matter about the "Land of Make Believe" that left her unsettled was temporal in basis. Among people arriving from different times and timelines, whenever a person returned they supposedly went back to the exact same spot as when they left with questionable memory of the time spent in the Land of Make Believe. It meant that, potentially, she could be in for a long stay. The idea of one month alone stretching into years meant even having Kirk around would be a welcome idea. (Truthfully, likely anyone but Gaila from her universe likely would've been welcome company.) The idea of wanting her shipmates around was mildly guilt-causing, but the old saying was that misery loved company. While the castle had its redeeming aspects, it still certainly called for company.
Not trusting herself to respond to Spock's voice post, Uhura quickly pulled on a pair of shoes and went across the hallway. She only took a brief moment to compose herself before knocking. She waited to be let in, with a hint of impatience, staring downward at the bottom of the door frame.
