Elphaba smiled sleepily and swatted him away from her ear before she was pulled round to face him. She accepted the kiss before rubbing her eye childishly with the heel of her hand, trying to push the last bits of sleep away as he spoke. Outside the room, the sound of Chistery waking up and bounding over the carpet filtered through.
She nodded thoughtfully. She could understand that. Her future was hardly peaches and cream, even if such a thing could ever be associated with Elphaba in the first place. Still, she also wasn't one to put off the inevitable.
"You know, the sitting around worrying might be worse than what you'd actually find out," she told him. Then she shrugged. "It's fine. Quentin found me a book. Oh," she reached out, tapping her forefinger thoughtfully against his chest. "I need you to help me learn French."
