Elphaba lifted her gaze from where she’d been looking down at Jamie to frown across at the blonde man. How had he known? Elphaba wasn’t proud of her magic. In fact, she hated it. She’d give anything to be rid of the damn stuff. After all, what was the point of it all? She hadn’t been able to use it to help Jamie, only now that it was too late was it starting to show itself, and that was more to make her uncomfortable than do anything productive. She cocked her head in the stranger’s direction, narrowing her eyes.
“I suppose so. In theory,” she replied shortly. Elphaba hooked her hair back behind her ear with her free hand and let the other slip down to rest against Jamie’s shaking shoulder. She didn’t feel all that steady herself. “I’m Elphaba,” she finally introduced herself. After all, he had come to help them. She probably owed him that much. Elphaba bit down on her bottom lip, a worried expression creasing her brow before he nodded towards the door. “Thank you. For that.”
