Have you had any experience with eating disorders?

Oh dear, yes I have. What seems to be the problem?

I'm not sure of the details yet, but the friend who brought me my aneurysm patient has asked me to see another friend of his who is apparently refusing to eat. If it's anorexia nervosa rather than medical anorexia, I'm not sure how much I can do about it; we didn't get a lot of eating disorders in trauma surgery.

If it's psychological, purely, there isn't much that can be done without the use of perhaps therapy of some sort. I'm not exactly an expert in such matters but I'd be willing to talk to them, perhaps see if it is psychological or not.

Most of the patients that had medical anorexia were helped with discovering a way around their diet restrictions as induced by medicine or disease, but nervosa was usually referred out to a specialist in my practice.

I was afraid that might be the case. I seem to be gaining a lot of patients who require psychiatric intervention, and while I can medicate those for whom that's a viable option, I'm not a counselor.

I'll get as much of a history as I can from my friend, and then discuss options for consultation with you, if that's all right. You might be the better option for talking to the patient.

That sounds like the best plan. We're happy to be of any assistance.

Oh, sorry, I'm happy to be of assistance.

Well.

We, he could be helpful in his own way. He's rather inspirational as it were.

I'm sorry, who is this other person?

Ah, that's slightly complicated but being that this is a fairly small community... I'm not interested in keeping secrets.

He is Thor, the Asgardian I share a physical form with. Not really my form, but the ability to be within this physical space is shared. Either I am here or he is here and we're both aware of the other when the other is away. Which is why if you can't find me it might be that he is present and you merely need to ask for him to get to me.

Thor. As in the occult figure in Earth-that-was northern mythology?

I want to say that's impossible. But we have angels around, so I suppose a deity isn't out of the question.

Yes, the very same. I would have said the same had I come from a world different than my own. On my Earth we had many different oddities in my day and age. Mutants, people gifted with all sorts of super powers, men and women who wore costumes to fight crime with these wild abilities.

It's always easier to show someone how we exist together rather than try and explain it. Next time we meet I'll show you.

Your world sounds insane interesting.

I should probably meet him if we're to work together, yes.

You got it, I'll make sure to bring him out to say hello. He likes you very much already, he thinks you are a noble man.

At least the impossible theological figures all seem to like me
That's much better than the alternative, I'm sure. I'll look forward to speaking with him.
