I've been settling. I met Luke finally

How did that go, if you don't mind me asking?

I don't mind. We ended up sharing a dream a bit ago. That was - enlightening, I suppose.

> Yes, the shared dreams were interesting. I think I had two of them. Was it a positive enlightenment?

> Also, I've been reading up a good deal on the task of teaching self-defense. If you'd be interested in any of the reading material, I'd be happy to share it.

> He and I have spoken on a number of things, though there were obviously some details that weren't my place to relay to you.

> I have a number of books on methods as well as several brochures and a number of resources from this world's equivalent of the holonet. I found a number of things about what to teach in correspondence with the physical aspects and I'm finding them rather enlightening. It bridges the gap from "attacked by assassin" to something more plausible here.

> Given the difference in experiences, and Luke, I doubt he would fault you for a desire to explore your friendship anew with patience and a lack of preconceptions on his side, though some factual details may still prove awkward. New setting calls for it.

> It's different for everyone, I'm sure, but I do know that I was quite thankful for Anakin's patience in allowing me time to catch up given that he's from a later date than I. He was also willing to respect my desires, whatever they be, and let things happen or not happen as they would. I can only imagine the same would be true of Luke.

> How about after the weekend, maybe Monday or Tuesday afternoon?

> He doesn't. He's been very courteous, well, very Luke about it, to be honest. But I would have expected no less of him.

> Perhaps the most disconcerting thing isn't all of the distance between us, but the fact that he sounds and feels very like the Luke I know, but then when I glance at him I remember that he's not and it reminds me of everything else.

> Tuesday perhaps? There's a little cafe I found in the city that seems nice enough. Perhaps we could meet there?

> I'm pleased to hear he's being predictable in that aspect. We'll avoid telling him he's being predictable, all the same, so none of the Skywalker stubbornness decides to try a bout of unpredictability.

> The idea of the future being a set concept is unsettling.

> That sounds perfect. Let me know the address and we can meet around 5?

Well enough, I suppose. Quietly. I'm interested in this Halloween celebration some of the others seem so excited about - it seems as though ancient superstitions have become simply another excuse for a party.

> A party with costumes. Do you hope to participate, or would you rather explore the more academic aspects and skip the actual party?

> I think Anakin and I will likely skip. People from our universe, from those movies and such, are free reign for costumes. It's a little unsettling.

> Oh, I may pay it a visit, but I'm really more fascinated by the evolution of the traditions. What child first decided to take advantage of the superstitions to collect a sack full of sweets?

> In that case, I may avoid it as well. Though I doubt anybody finds a diplomat a suitable costume, going by my reading.

> That is a curious concept, though one I must admit I could see some people quite liking. Where would the costume part come in, though?

> A Jedi seems to be considered an acceptable costume. A small Obi-Wan and Anakin walking around... well, two or more, actually, considering there's already one.

I suppose it's good that this place is keeping us both so busy. And I'm thrilled to hear it's going well. As for the confusing aspect, perhaps you just need some time for things to become more clear.

No, nor do I. Just some days... I guess it is not odd, but sometimes, I truly am more glad you are here.

If nothing else ever makes it so, I am grateful to this place for letting me know you, Mother.
