My beautiful roommate and I are in need of a doctor closer than town, we don't happen to have any in the castle that might be able to render services for the duration of a pregnancy, do we?

Why is it always babies I'm not an obstetrician, but I've helped with pregnancies before.

We would be greatly appreciative. I just want to make sure she's under the best care possible.

Of course. How far along is she?

She's three months along.

There are some vitamins I'll want her to start taking, then. Is she comfortable with me coming to your rooms to speak with her?

Let me know what they are and I'll make sure she's got a constant supply of them. And yes, she is.

Well, some of it will depend on what her levels are already. I'll want to do a blood test to make sure everything's what it should be. But the main ones she'll need are vitamins C, D and E, thiamin and pyridoxine, folic acid, and perhaps some iron supplements if her cell count is low. If she's in good health she won't need to do anything more than change her diet a little to get the necessary nutrients.

So pull out a notebook to take notes with while you talk to her and prescribe things. Got it.

I can write up a care plan and leave it with you, if that would be easier.

If I take the notes, I'll remember them easier. I'm just very new to all this, so remembering would be good.

That's my fault, I've been spoiling her so she doesn't have to lift a finger. And she's still getting acquainted with technology as a whole.

Thanks. =)

After the pregnancy is actually happening, it's a little late to have second thoughts on being a father. I'm sure you'll do fine.

To be fair, she was pregnant when she arrived as my roommate, I've just grown incredibly attached to her and want to do right by her and her child.

To be fair, you didn't really convey that.

And I suspect that's why you got congratulated above as well.

Looking back, I see that now. I was mainly concerned with getting the doctor for her, not thinking how my post might come off. Though I'm kind of wanting to help be the father for her baby.

And that's why I said she should be the one to be congratulated.

It's not like she's going into labor right now. While that's understandable I suppose, you might want to think about it in the future in relation to the topic unless you plan to take full-on Daddy label and she sees fit to let you.

Just pointing it out. Most guys wouldn't want the label of "father-to-be" stuck to them when they're not actually one.

You're trying to help her when you have no biological requirement. I don't quite get it. What's your angle?

I don't have an angel. She got here, she needed help both medically and with everything because she's from an age where they don't even have stoves or refrigerators. I wanted to help. We've grown close since.

An angel? No, I just - why would you want to help to start? I don't quite get your angle. People don't just jump up to help because someone needs it, more often than not. People don't like being inconvenienced.

No, I would never claim to be an angel.
Because I'm a good guy. I don't like seeing a woman in distress, so I help.

Never said that was a bad thing. I just answered honestly - I don't get it as a whole. I wouldn't understand it if another selfless person walked in either. You say you aren't an angel, but you'd help in general without question unless there's something I missed.

Or it could be that most blokes are just arses after one thing. Must be it. Blokes just aren't good outside of America and Canada.
