[Arthur]

Thank you for inviting the boys to the bonfire the other night. They had a lovely time.

[Eames]

I feel like I should thank you for feeding the boys baked fruit laced with chocolate. I think it went down very well.

The pleasure was all mine, but I'm afraid you still have Daniel to thank.

Well, you did the organising. But I'll make sure I do that next time he comes round.

Organizing is what I'm good at. Bossing people around too. I think Daniel will like that.

Well, you did very well. Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves. I've never eaten off a fire outside before.

How are you doing?

I have, but never anything as delectable as the other night. But I haven't had one of those bananas - seemed too messy to eat.

I'm good. Starting my new job tomorrow, so that's something.

I can't blame you for that. I avoided the bananas as well.

What's the job?

I bet Daniel and Eames pouted. Good to know there's someone else out there who can withstand them.

A waiter in an upscale restaurant, [name].

I've had worse. You haven't met the older version of Sirius yet, have you?

Very nice. I suppose you'll have to be completely charming to try and maximise tips.

I've had worse than him under my wing.

Oh, I can do charming - it's just not for everyone.

He's a nightmare. Bless him.

I thought everyone liked charming.

I guess I'll have to see for myself.

Being charming has its risks though. I don't want to end up a playboy.

Is that a huge risk when working in a restaurant?

Not if I avoid everyone as soon as I leave work.

Well, as long as you have a plan I'm sure you'll survive with your virtue intact.

I'm glad they enjoyed it. Did you? Enjoy the evening, I mean.

I have. I was in the scouts. And in the army. It was a lot more enjoyable in the scouts than in the army, though.

Oh, sorry. It's a worldwide thing, it teaches boys things like orienteering, first aid, knowing about wildlife, knowing which plants are poisonous and which you can eat safely, how to make shelters in the woods, all sorts of things. We met up every week and learnt these things so that we could work towards merit badges to prove that we could tie sixteen different knots or identify a badger from its footprints or what-have-you. Every summer, there was a camp somewhere for a week or so, and we'd all head off and live in a damp tent for that week.

Why in Merlin's name would you make them do all of that?
