FIFTH ANIMAL ATTACK by Renee Jones Given the rise in animal attacks this summer, the sherrif's office is strongly recommending that residents avoid the preserve for the foreseeable future, to stay in groups rather than going out alone, and to stay indoors after dark. Remember, not all of the attacks have been in the preserve. The second victim was attacked not far from his home, and the third victim was attacked on one of the cycling tracks in the park on Lester Street. These safeguards are not ideal and the sherrif's office acknowledged that they are not a workable long-term solution, but they are reluctant to instate an official curfew just yet. That will be the next step if residents fail to heed their warnings and these attacks continue. The young woman found last night has been identified as 19 year old Cindy Harrison. Harrison was originally from Kentucky but moved to Beacon Hills last year to attend Beacon University. She was studying psychology and was known as an intelligent and articulate young woman. Flowers have been left at the entrance to the preserve in memorium for a young woman tragically taken far too soon. The funeral is scheduled for next Wednesday in her home town of Bowling Green, Kentucky. The funeral for the fourth victim, Silvia Reynolds(discovered last week in two pieces in the preserve) is being held tomorrow at the Church of Holy Unity at 11am. |
