There are very few things that Stiles dislikes more than admitting defeat and having to acknowledge that the Internet has limited resources is definitely one of those things. After several days of research and many lost hours of sleep, Stiles had hit a road block in his Google-fu and knew that no matter how many alternative solutions he sought out, there really was only one in particular that he needed to pursue. Still, it took another day or two of cruising library archives and the Dewey Decimal System before he'd finally succumbed to the tiresome argument taking place in his own internal monologue.
He'd spent the entirety of the school day agonizing over a conversation that hadn't even taken place yet, various highlighters and pens being on the receiving end of his anxiety as he chewed away distractedly through every class. As far as the teachers were concerned, this wasn't abnormal behavior, so no one was surprised by his lack of focus. By the time the last bell had rung for the end of the day, Stiles bolted out of class in a rush to make sure he crossed paths with his first source of contact before she'd bypassed him completely and gone home. It didn't take too long before he spotted her strawberry blonde head in the sea of other students headed his way, posture instantly straightening from his usual slump as his stance became more rigid. "Lydia, hey!" There was the very real chance that she could ignore him and keep walking, but he'd positioned himself directly in her path, so at the very least she could hear him all the way out before making a decision. "Would you mind uh...... having a word?" he paused, eyes squinting when what he'd verbalized didn't match what he'd thought about earlier. "With me, I mean! Would you mind having a word with me?"
