"Welsh. Now that's not a language you hear of everyday of people knowing how to speak," said Maria, her brows quirking up in interest. "Color me impressed. There's a story to that, isn't there?"
Most people took Spanish or French in American schools. Maybe Italian or Russian or Latin. Some schools offered more choices, such as Asian languages, especially at the collegiate level. Or so Maria hears, as she never pursued higher education herself, in the U.S. or otherwise. Even so, Welsh was not typically among the foreign language course selections.
