Who: Shauna & Sally What: A magic lesson in the woods teaches both witches about a new development. Where: BH Preserve. When:[back dated] Wednesday afternoon (late) Rating: Low Status: In progress
If Sally liked one thing about nature, it was dirt.
Not the dust and grime people left in their wake, but good, honest, clean(ish) dirt. Mud, clay, humus, loam, sand, grit, gravel, sod, turf, peat--Sally liked earth. It was so much quieter than everything else happening on top of it. When she touched bark or rocks, they never "shouted" information the way pencils and rubber did; they only murmured. Sometimes Sally felt that humus was more civil than most people.
The Preserve was part of that, too. Sally crumpled a bright orange leaf in her hand, letting the dry flakes flutter down to the rest of the leaf litter on the ground. The leaf's presence barely registered to her radar, the "reading" so faint it was lost in a breath.
Or a sneeze. Sally pulled out a tissue with her other hand and rubbed at the annoying tickle in her nose. Was she developing an allergy? How was that even fair?
