Tracy + ? It was the absolute worst! Tracy was unable to host a Halloween party that year, as her father was out of town. While many would have deemed this the ideal time to gather and let loose, she didn't want to give cause for the trust between them to be broken. And he had agreed to letting her have a few friends over.. just not enough to count as the social event of the year. But there was an agreement that she could have a party during Thanksgiving break! Ideas were being tossed around to make it worth the wait, but so far nothing was sticking out.
Delicate fingertips were pulling off bits of cotton candy to nibble upon, as she moved through the crowd trying to ignore the urge to stop at every single food vendor or lose money at the booths. A friendly enough smile was flashed to those she passed, exchanging greetings with some of her peers but not overly committed to remaining in one spot long enough and interrupting a date or unsettling the groups that were evenly divided for the rides.
Tracy was fairly certain she'd bump into one of her friends, or someone she didn't know well enough yet, sooner or later.
She hoped it would be Jackson, truthfully. He had been a little more withdrawn and moody lately than usual. Tracy wouldn't embarrass him to bring up at school, as there was no telling who might be eavesdropping. And it felt a little odd to message him on Facebook or text, as despite their current off status.. it was Lydia's Jackson. Girls could be fiercely territorial in that regard!
Maybe, she could invite the gang over tonight? Tracy hated being home alone and Halloween for all it's delights still had some nightmarish qualities -- or there wouldn't be so many movies or stories circling the holiday!
