Peter + Reese
For all that people claimed people watching was an awful habit, Peter had to love it for the moments when he bore witness to something entirely entertaining with extra points for being Schadenfreude. Not more than maybe ten feet from him, one of the fair-goers, dressed aptly as a pirate, was pickpocketing people unfortunate enough to be too trusting and not at all observant.
While not the type to resort to petty crime himself, Peter could appreciate the finesse it took to manage to sneak someone's wallet or loose bills out of their pockets without their noticing. It wasn't a trick the wolf ever really intended to learn, considering that if he ever needed something from someone, he was more suited into manipulating them to handing it over on his own and was more his forte anyway. Nevertheless, knowing someone who could pick pockets with enough confidence and guaranteed success was something Peter wasn't likely to forget.
It was impossible to tell what might prove useful in the future, and so he was determined to commit this little incident to memory under 'just in case.' And why bother attempting to learn the skill when someone already proficient enough in it was only a negotiation away?
Just then, one of said pirate's victims patted down his pocket looking for his wallet only to be left empty-handed. For the sake of the potential investment, Peter attempted to make eye contact with the thief to get his attention and hopefully move him out of line of vision of the hulking oaf that was undoubtedly about to react violently and embarrass not only himself but his date. While the spectacle would no doubt be amusing to watch from a distance, it conflicted with his current goals. Hopefully 'Captain Jack' understood the cue and got himself well out of the fight before the man put two and two together.
