Who: Derek, Scott and Stiles What: Derek has been Where: Beacon Hills High When: After school on Friday, August 28. Rating: Likely high for swearing and possible violence ;) Status: In progress
This was quite possibly the worst idea he'd ever had. Derek was leaning against the hood of his Camero, arms crossed over his chest as he watched teenagers stream out of the nearby building like their asses were on fire. Quite a few of them gave him odd looks, and he heard a few talking about him, but after accidentally overhearing someone comment on his 'package', he quite deliberately tuned out the inane chatter around him. He looked like a creep hanging around the high school parking lot, and he knew it. Mentally cursing both his mother for giving him this assignment and Laura for not talking him out of this ridiculous plan, Derek kept his eyes on the doors, watching for the kid Cora had told them suddenly smelled like werewolf. She had shown them his yearbook photo so he knew who he was looking for. Up close he'd be able to sniff him out, but amid the throng of students, it would be easier to look for him.
And then there he was, him and his friend heading out of the building and down the steps towards the parking lot. Pushing up off the car, Derek strode through the students who were variously heading towards cars or bikes, walking or standing around in little groups making plans for the weekend. He wished he could simply call Scott over without bothering to raise his voice, but the kid was a newly turned, untrained werewolf and probably wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.
"Scott," he said once he was close enough. The kid was definitely a werewolf. Cora was right. And that meant they had a very big problem. Not only were there omegas invading their territory, but at least one of them was an alpha. "I need to talk to you. In private."
Inwardly, Derek cringed, wishing he'd thought of a better way to say that, but how the hell was he supposed to get the kid alone when they'd never even met before and Scott had no reason to trust him? This was why he was the worst one for his mother to choose for this type of thing. Just because he was male wasn't a good enough reason.
