It was almost as if Jackson could sense that Lydia was getting frustrated. After being together so long, it wasn't all that much of a surprise that he could sometimes pick up on those subtle things, but it was a shock to him insomuch as he wasn't sure when that started being a thing that he noticed. Jackson always told himself that he didn't really notice or know all that much about the girl he had been dating for years, but maybe that wasn't quite true. Maybe it was just that he didn't want to acknowledge everything he knew about her in a mean and selfish attempt to not get too attached.
"I'll keep an eye out for it," he replied, voice slightly softer and less distant in the vaguest form of apology there was. Either way, the conversation and this moment were over, Jackson knew that much beyond a doubt, and he wasn't really going to try to resurrect it. He still didn't have much to say on the topic of werewolves and he still didn't have that urge to discuss the nature of humanity, so he had no choice but to let this meeting come to a close (and subconsciously hope the next one went better). "Don't mention it."
Jackson offered her the closest to a genuine smile he could get, something that was rare these days, before heading off towards his next class.
