Sure, she could have gone for the comedies, but then she wouldn't be a true fan, as far as she was concerned. Libby may not be a fan of gore or ultraviolence either, but she was determined to earn and maintain her nerd cred. With everyone buzzing about The Walking Dead, both the graphic novel series and the show, it seemed silly to let something as insignificant as her own fear stop her from partaking in quality television.
"The good reviews?" said Libby with a little shrug of her shoulders as she took a sip of her hot beverage. "I don't know, I like the commitment. It challenges me to settle in and work past my own discomfort to get to the meat and bones of the story, which I know is supposed to be very good." She paused and wrinkled her nose at her own choice of words. "No pun intended."
It may seem in retrospect like poor judgment to start a show that frightened her this late at night, especially when she had been by herself. However, Libby was generally a thoughtful girl. She did things with intentionality and a fair amount of careful introspection. Usually when she chose to do something, it was to achieve something that would ultimately better herself in one way or another. To illustrate her current point, she turned her mug to show off the quotation on the side.
