Over his four years at Hogwarts, Donghae never ceased to be fascinated by the giant squid. Granted, it was considerably less bizarrely interesting than other creatures of the wizarding world, but it was just so darn friendly that he couldn't help but love it. He likened it to having a pet—a very large one that he never really had to take care of or clean up after. Couldn't get much better than that, right?
And so, the afternoon found Donghae heading down to the lake, snacks for his pseudopet in hand and a smile wide on his face. Seated near the edge, he noticed as he approached, was another student: Aiba. The two weren't much beyond acquaintances despite being housemates in the same year, but that didn't stop Donghae from lowering himself to the ground right beside the other student and striking up a conversation.
