WHO: Parker & Thezor
WHEN: Saturday - about 3:30 in the afternoon
WHERE: Julian's above ground home
WHAT: Brother and sister, awww...
RATING: PG-13
The past month or so, things had started changing at a rapid pace. Then again, it didn't seem fast at all, not to Parker. To an outside party looking in, yes, it was quick. But she had no real concept on the amount of time, more concerned with what was developing in that time. It wasn't just one thing or another either; there was more than one thing changing.
For one, how she managed her time was different. Sure, there were classes, but her attendance had begun to wain off a few weeks previously. Sure, there was her part-time job, but she only kept going so she wouldn't be broke. And sure, there was her family, but she'd not spent time with them in so long that they were all starting to seem foreign. Not Julian, though. He was becoming less and less a stranger while everyone else was going in reverse.
Another thing she'd noticed- her attitude and temper had been somewhat sharpened. She found that the simplest things- stuff she'd never paid much attention to before- seemed to irritate her rather easily. Bumping into someone in the courtyard, a dropped coffee, a roll of the eyes... just little things that didn't matter. The people around her started to seem a little more insignificant as the weeks passed. She was special; she was a witch. What was everyone else? She could see the future. What could they see? She could tell what they were feeling without ever having to ask. Could any of those normal people she passed every day do that? Nope. Though it would shame her just a bit to say it out loud, she was starting to really understand the power she held and the things she could really do and how that kinda sorta made her just a little bit better than everyone else.
Even her smiles had changed. The lifelight that used to shine in her eye, something that gave her old smiles a lively kindness, it had darkened. Her new smiles had just an edge of something devious, like she had some kind of wicked secret sealed behind that angel sweet mouth.
Not to mention, there was also the subject of her powers. From the day she'd properly received Julian's beautiful gift, she wore it daily. She was attached to it, like it was her most prized possession, like she would claw the eyes off someone who would ever try to take it from her. Her visions had taken a more consistent shape and form, appearing in bright, very saturated coloring, while becoming more active and frequent. She found that her teleporting worked with much more ease and went smoother, more graceful, if she simply wanted to be somewhere and then let herself be there. And by Zeus! Her empathy fed the outside world of emotions to her like a constant pulse, like her empathy itself was a living, breathing creature. It was easy to let it happen too, to feel unrestrained and uninhibited. It almost felt like the empathic creature in her was about to explode, like she could feel the something sparking. The closest thing she could compare it to was an exposed live wire laying in the middle of an open street.
Having been to Julian's home a hell of a lot more than once by now, Parker would simply go up and go in when she got there. "Why did I even bother with a car in the first place?" She wondered out loud after coming in through the front door- she'd teleported from campus to just down the block from the house... it was rude to simply appear in someone's house.
