Leo probably should have stayed late at the school, like he had been lately. With all the students there, he never felt right just leaving them in the evenings, even if there wasn't much he could do to protect them if they were attacked again. But he made himself leave at a reasonable hour that evening so he could eat a meal with his wife. A home-cooked one at that.
Instantly being wrapped around with the warm smell of dinner, he dropped his bag and coat by the front banister and headed first to the kitchen, peaking in to find no one there, but empty cooking utensils. Through deduction, he entered the dining room to find Piper waiting. "Sorry I'm late," he leaned to press a kiss to her cheek before taking the chair opposite of her. She seemed to have been waiting, and although he thought he had made rather good timing for himself, he assumed he had been late. "And sorry I haven't been home lately."
