Parker was quiet for a long time. And the longer she was quiet, the more nervous Julian became. Who the hell knew what she was thinking. Julian had been sure that Parker would be the one most receptive to the news. He had chosen her out of all three of his sisters, he had prepared her. But now that it came down to it, he didn't know if she really was taking it as well as he assumed she would. She was quiet for so long that it made him uncomfortable. He wanted to say something, but he knew that wouldn't help either.
And then she spoke and Julian wasn't even sure what to say. He wasn't about to tell her that she could be Queen of the Underworld. Not yet. But that was why he told her that. Partially. He supposed he could break it down to the base of everything, but the Source in him fought back for a moment. Telling her was revealing a weakness and that was something he just didn't need to do. So for a moment Julian actually debated on what to tell her. And decided to skip that question for a moment.
"I didn't know how you'd take it. Anyone else would have vanquished me by now." In fact, Julian was fairly certain Phoebe would have vanquished him already. He had heard all the stories. He knew how many times she'd killed his father. He knew that Phoebe wasn't one to wait around and let evil become something else. Not anymore. Julian was just hoping that Parker was enough like the way Phoebe used to be that she would give him a change. That she would give herself a chance. There was so much available to the two of them if she would just give in to it.
Sighing, Julian reached out for Parker's hand. He was as gentle as he had ever been. "I never had a family, Parker. Not really. And it's not fair to either of us for me to have to keep this secret. That's why I told you." More or less. It was the best way he could think to work things and still come out on top should the situation sour.
