The drive was relatively short. Julian kept quiet so not to add to the noise he knew Parker was trying to filter out. He had made sure that his house would keep all that noise out. It was large and sort of ominous. But Julian rather liked it. He needed somewhere to live if he was going to pretend to be mortal and why not something like this? It was grand and beautiful and a little dark. And the best part? It was completely guarded by dozens of spells. Parker wouldn't have to feel a thing.
Pulling into the garage, Julian was out and around the car before the door even closed behind them. He pulled Parker's door open and held out his hand to her. "I have a friend who's a doctor if you want someone to take a look at you. Or you can sleep in one of the bedrooms if you want. There's no one here but us right now." It was just going to take a little bit of nudging to get Parker to the right position to tell her the truth. But she still looked a little shell-shocked and Julian didn't want to press it. The Underworld was going to have a queen, he just had to make sure to play his cards right.
