That wasn't supposed to happen. The part with Parker not moving. That definitely wasn't supposed to happen. Thezor had intentionally worked the crash so that nothing at all would happen to his sister. And she wasn't moving. And for a moment, the most uncomfortable wave of mortal panic rushed through him. All this planning for nothing. All this planning to ruin everything he'd worked for. This wasn't supposed to happen!
Moving at as normal of a run as he could manage, Julian made his way to her car. There was chaos around them, but Julian ignored it. She was unconscious. It took all he had not to rip the damned door off the hinges. But by the time he reached her, she was lifting her head. She blinked like she wasn't sure where she was. Although she looked perfectly fine. There wasn't a scratch on her. Someone was hurt in the other car, but that had been the intention.
Julian pulled the door open, arms reaching out to Parker without hesitation. His heart was still thudding in his chest, adrenaline pumping through his veins. He was going to have to save face if there were any demons around here, but he could worry about that later. "Hey, you okay in there? Let me help you out. C'mere." Julian reached over Parker, hitting the button on the seat belt and pulling it away from her. She was fine. He was relieved. Curious, but relieved.
