In general Penny was very good at picking out this and that emotion around the city. She could always tell if what she was feeling was close or distant. And it was amazing how distant her empathy really reached out. But sometimes it wasn't distance but depth that really mattered. And she always felt the depth of her family much stronger. Especially with Porsche. Sometimes Penthea wasn't sure if what she was feeling was her own emotions or Porsche's, that's how close she was to her sister. But she knew within seconds when something was wrong with her cousins. And within minutes with the rest of her family.
Sitting up, Penny closed the book on her lap. She was sitting with perfect posture, looking a little lost. She listened closely, but realized immediately that it wasn't a physical sound she was hearing. Pen pushed the books off her lap and stood up. She really hated doing this. She was terrible at it. But she couldn't just ignore what was screaming in her head. Penny closed her eyes, focused on the feeling, and orbed.
She ended up behind Wyatt's couch. She grabbed the back of the couch as her head spun a little. She felt a little dizzy. But she regained her composure quickly. "Wyatt? What's wrong?"
