"They usually just walk right by the Leaky," she replied. "I dunno, 150, bit longer?" Daphne shook her head. "No Book of Shadows. Of course we learn History of Magic. We've got loads of History books to learn from, though." Daphne liked History more than almost anyone she knew. "So a combination of everything almost." Weird!
Daphne bit her lip at the talk of demons. "Just a plan, Pen, the D word would probably not be best mentioned. Just saying. Cause um. I think it's supposed to be some Ministry secret that not even I'm supposed to know about."
Once they entered Diagon Alley, Daphne grinned at Pen's reaction. She remembered first seeing it when she was little. The awe and inspiration caused by it. "Oh! Quidditch. Best sport ever. Okay, so there's seven on a side. Three are chasers and they try and get a ball through these great big hoops. There's a keeper who guards the hoops. Then there's two balls that try and hit you and each team has two people who try and make sure they don't hit their team members. They're called Beaters. I'm one of them." Daphne beamed. For someone so tiny, it was surprising. "And then the final person's the seeker. They try and catch the golden snitch. Which is this itty bitty gold ball that's fast as anything!"
