"Lucky?" I splutter, mopping ineffectually at my lap with a tissue. "Well, if you want food in your lap feel free. There's plenty left for you." I gesture sarcastically at what little food made it onto the table.
Ugh, I can't believe my luck. All right, it's not just me but half the school, but that doesn't make me feel much better. I pick up a slice of toast and stand up. "I'm going to get changed," I say, addressing my words to Lil and Hannah. "I'll see you guys later, okay?"
And with that I join the rest of the people leaving the Great Hall. It could have been worse, I suppose - there's one poor girl with porridge all down her front - but I'm still cross, and Megan's attitude hasn't done much to improve my mood. Lucky? Sometimes I think that girl doesn't live in the same world as everybody else.
