I've been looking at joining this comm for a while, so I finally decided that instead of being a lurker I should just jump in and figure something out. I was leaning towards THE VIXEN, but I didn't know how many people would be willing to set up storylines with a hooker. I'm open to suggestions for other characters that are more wanted, so if you have any then that would be great. Thanks.

I'm thinking about bringing Edward Norton in as THE SECRETIVE but I'm having some troubles figuring out where his parents might be, how he's related to other members of the Carducci's and what not.
As far as the gay thing goes, since the title does insinuate secrecy (no really?) my guess is that Marco is going to be extremely macho and maybe sometimes overbearingly so. He seems tough and hard-ass on the exterior but inside he holds his deep dark secret.
Now I'm not sure where I could place him as far as a "job" goes. Maybe the cigar shop? I'm not sure, I'd love suggestions.

So I'm hoping to bring Zooey Deschanel in here as "The Floater." She's not apart of the Carducci family and only began to gain their trust because she was young and on her own and would do anything to be associated with the infamous Carducci's. However, when there was an incident with a junkie terrorizing her, June began to float around. This didn't stop her from keeping her loyalties to the Carducci's but now no one really trusts her.
She doesn't have any family relations or any relations for that matter so my main goal is to look for lines independant of family. People who dislike her of corse, maybe a few people who thinks she's not that bad, etc. I'm not really sure but I'm willing to brainstorm!

alrighty guys, i decided to lend on in a hand and pick up THE SURVIVOR with JOSH HARTNETT as the pb. idealy i think most of what my guy will be interacting with will probably be straight italians, otherwise i'm sure he'd be looking for a good beating 'cause that's pretty much what his whole premade is/revolves around. anyway before i start my questionnaire on anthony carducci, half brother to the italian mob boss i'd love for you all to hit me up with some lines. oh ... and before i forget, i'll need to get in touch with who ever plays francesa ceccacci and nicholas carducci jr. that'll make crap alot easier.

Ok, so I am bringing in this Milo Ventimiglia to the comm as the Italian Capo. I haven't gotten too far with him yet as I am just about to start writing out his first post and all, but I will put here what I have in my head so far for him. I imagine that he is going to be a very tough leader for his team, someone who is very intent on them doing the best job for the family as possible, and will not accept anything less. He is someone that has a very fiery temper, he always chooses actions over words and it gets him into trouble most times. He believes that fighting and action will always prevail over sitting down and discussing something. He cares deeply for the one's closest to him and that is the reason that he is so fiery, he doesn't want to lose anyone close to him, it is his greatest fear. Angelo is never one to be seen vulnerable, he always shows his tough exterior and not many ever get to see the fragile interior that he really has. He is a trusted and respected leader, someone that all can look up to and he demands respect in the family. He is extremely vocal and will give his opinion on all matters, no matter who he is speaking to, even if he needs to say it to the boss himself. Well, that's most of what I have so far, but I am open for all storylines and would love to hear what you guys and gals have for him, so please, feel free to post here!

i want to bring alexis bledel in as the firecracker. basically she would be a holy terror (think that crazy bitch in gone baby gone meets like i don't know jacinda barret on steroids. whatever) and give a whole new meaning to irish temper. if she's not throwing a vase at you she's busting your balls or telling you to wash your face because you look like a whore who would turn a free trick (she's so pleasant, right?). i'm not sure what sort of career she would have or what kind of contributions she could make to the mafia (not that i want you to do all the thinking for me or anything but), does anyone have any ideas or lines that would fit this? i was thinking about making her a dancer or co-worker to the stripper but that may be totally inappropriate considering who she is related to and so on. so just help me out a little here guys and i promise to bring in someone your characters can despise.
edit: ok her first entry is up with all her info. she's an "entertainer" at sophie's and i cannot express how mean and snarky she is. if you need enemy lines, ex lines, friend lines please comment and we'll work something out. it's a rare occurrence that she actually likes someone but i'd like her to have at least two friends she can stand and appreciate or feel loyalty towards (preferably these people would be irish so she can sort of have a stance in this war).

this is edie giarhetti, the DEAL of the italian mafia. she's 25 years old and lives in brooklyn heights. edie's got big doe eyes and a pale, cute face but don't let that fool you. this girl is not afraid to get down and dirty -- you can catch her driving 90 mph on the highway to wrap up a deal, burning cigarette dangling from her lips. she's pretty but unapproachable, is very good at covering her tracks. she has an insane amount of self-respect and will rip anyone a new one if they try and treat her like shit. she doesn't put up with womanizing bastards, no matter who they are. despite the fact that i've made her sound like a ungrateful bitch -- she's a great friend. she's an awesome lover and is completely faithful to everyone she loves, she's always got your back and never goes back on her word. her day job is teaching ballet at a local academy in new york (which okay, will get her made fun of ... forever but ballet was her life before drugs were her life).
she needs some awesome, awesome friends. enemies since she's quite the firecracker, though she's essentially harmless and doesn't instigate anything ever -- unless revenge, or other causes call. a familial connection to the mafia, i don't know. lovers, exboyfriends, uh whatever else because i know you can all come up with some crazy shit. maybe some guys who still don't think she's up for playing with the big boys.

hey everyone! i plan on bringing in leigh lezark as "the devious scarlett" premade which would mean she is russian and the sister of "the doctor doom", "the manipulator" and last but definitely not least, the russian mob boss. she had always been on the chubby side growing up and was made fun of a lot in school for both her weight and her name which was subject to a lot of "ivanna humpalot" jokes so needless to say she didn't have too many friends and spent her time trying (and failing) to make friends with the "popular crowd" so she would be cool by association. at 16 years of age they abused her weakness by putting her to a series of tests along the lines of "if you want to be our friend, you have to ____" which made her end up partake in underage drinking, smoking weed, shoplifting, and a whole lot of partying among other things which all eventually led to her being a bitter, drug addicted, vain, selfish bitch. now at 23 years of age and a lot skinnier and generally more stylish, she opened up a tiny beauty salon (whose name i am yet to think of) last year which has had pretty good business due to her excellent customer service skills and sugar sweet front. nobody thinks she can do any wrong and that she is a happy-go-lucky kinda gal but what they don't realize is that she is completely on the other end of the spectrum and heavily addicted to cocaine - the main contributor to her weight loss. while she does love her family and friends, she is only truly loyal to herself and rarely does anything that she can't somehow benefit from in the short or long run. basically she's a kathryn merteuil.
i am up to absolutely anything when it comes to storylines. i know she's going to have a handful of enemies just for being russian but i'd really like a few girls who absolutely loathe her existence and are out for her blood because she's used them in one of her devious joint plans with her brother ("the manipulator"), a non-related roommate who knows the real her and could even be into the coke/party scene too, aquantainces from the salon or clubbing, etc. throw anything at me!

Donal Alastair Hartigan was born into a life of crime. There was never a choice about whether or not he would go into the business that his father had taken up before his third son was born. Coming from a family of eight children, Donny was brought up in a relatively normal household, regardless of the family business looming over all of them. But at the ripe age of 25, married and father of first son Daniel, he was made a hitman for the Irish. Simultaneously, he was building up a contracting business in Manhattan. Starting from the ground up, he now resides in an office building somewhere on the upper east side where he usually walks around in a pair of sneakers and shorts, especially if it's a Wednesday and he's gone for a run through Central Park. Most work days are cut short when he gets a call from his daughter or his wife and he has to meet up for lunch or just to chat or there's a small crisis (like a fight with a roommate or a dirty look from the next door neighbor). For as complicated as his life can be underneath the surface, his worries merely settle on triviality, at least that would be how it would appear to most. He worries about his daughter being upset over a bad grade on a paper or his wife getting locked out of her car or one of his sons getting lost somewhere out of state. Donal Hartigan is a family man first and foremost and it shows. He loves his wife and kids, he takes care of them as best as he can but there's no denying his undying loyalty to the Irish, to the McCarthy family.

I just held Hayden Panetierre. I don't know who is wanted here characterwise, so I'm throwing her out there for you to help me mold. She's young, obviously, and I definately want her to have big mafia ties since that's the point of this comm. I've been looking at this place for a while and I finally decided to take the leap and see what you guys wanted! If she's not I can always take suggestions too!

Rather than edit, I've decided to repost. I know people asked for more Russians, but I'm thinking of bringing this Michelle Monaghan PB as THE FIRECRACKER premade, which would make her a McCarthy cousin and enemy to franky, for whatever reason. I was thinking of making Liadain (surname presumably McCarthy, but that could change) an ex-cop who was recently forced to resign after being investigated by internal affairs and falsely accused of corruption and involvement with the Irish mob. She was a first year detective at that time, and was likely framed for tampering with evidence. Prior to the accusations, Liadain tried hard to detach herself from the associations of her family, but after getting kicked off the force, she decided to actually align herself with the mob. I was thinking that the conspiracy against her might've come about as a result of the Italian INFORMER premade taking her down for catching on to the fact that he's dirty. I'm not sure how she came to be enemies with Francesca, but her work at the morgue could've gotten her involved in the plot. Either way, Liadain's pissed off at the loss of her career and all that she'd tried to make for herself, and is looking to get her revenge against the Italians by any means. She's a hardened bitch, and even more short tempered than she was before she was fired. I imagine she wasn't exactly welcomed back into the fold with open arms, and probably had to prove she could be trusted, but she's loyal to her family and has resigned herself to the idea that her heritage is inescapable. I'm not sure what her occupation is now, but she's possibly gotten herself a private investigator's license as a semi-legitimate way to keep snooping around.
Thoughts? Questions? Suggestions? I don't have anything written yet, but I'd like to run the idea past people before I do start to get this journal set up.

Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions earlier. I've decided to go with The Outsider role, using John Krasinski as the playby. I've filled out the questions, but if I had to sum him up in a sentence, I would say that he's a lawyer who is dedicated to his daughter and the rest of his family and would do whatever it takes to make them happy. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone needs anything filled or would like to discuss particular lines before I filled out a bio and the application. I'm on AIM, too, if you'd prefer to talk there!

hello all. i'm bringing in myra lamagna. she just moved from miami where she grew up in a very catholic italian family. however she never really liked being catholic and being restricted so much so she broke every rule that she could. her goal is to be a model for victoria's secret one day and be an angel. she's got a big mouth but a bigger heart and she isn't afraid to speak up for anyone that's too scared to. i'm sure her big mouth will get her into big trouble one day. she's incredibly energetic and is always up for a good time. her best friend is nelle and they're living together right now as well as working in the same bar. she has no idea about the mafia action around her, but she's very cleaver so soon she'll probably figure out most of it. since she has such a liking for trouble, oh she'll be up for any type of trouble.
she could use everything! bring it on :-)

I've decided to bring in 'the butch', but before I can flesh out her 10 questions as fully as I'd like to I need to discuss some things with the writer of the Russian boss (family life, etc.) I'm hoping that they are active, but in the event that they are not please let me know so I can move things along without. Other than that I would love some storylines to come in with. Oksana is a tough woman, her only soft spot being for her six year old son (the result of a rape, rumored to be an act of retaliation against the Maslov family and not just mere circumstance). Discovering who her rapist was and coming face to face with him would be absolutely intense, so a volunteer for that would be wonderful. She's also very stylish, fashion being her first great love, and a master at dealing with weaponry that could easily reduce someone to a red wind or fit perfectly in an Armani suit jacket. She is sarcastic and has quite the dry wit, her jokes easily offend and she offers no apologies. She also loves to argue, mostly things of a historical subject rather than something petty like who left the milk out on the counter. That's all I have of her right now, but her ten questions should be up soon!

work has been kicking my ass since i started last month but since things are kind of calming down i'm thinking of bringing kerry back in. i'm not sure if i want to stick with my same character or bring in someone different, so suggestions on that would be nice :-( i really miss it and if anyone wants to keep the same sls or change them let me know i want to really be active and fix her up this time so let me know if anyone has any ideas (because i would like a lot of sls this time) or family ideas i am gonna be in need of a sister or brother either way

This is Ari Rouselle and she is about to turn 23 in two weeks. She just moved to NY from Huntington Beach, Cali but attened college at FIDM. She loves fashion and is going to start her own line asap but her number one passion is singing. She still does it from time to time. She is an absolute goofball and there is never a dull moment when she is around. She is a big flirt and loves the fellas. She's a big partier and knows how to do it up with the best of them but she's trying to not do it so much because she does want to start this line soon and that takes up most of her money so buying booze isn't her number one thing to do right now. She tends to do things at the dumbest times. She got a tattoo at 4 in the morning, the day of her birthday simply because she couldn't sleep. She dies her hair constantly because she never likes it for too long before thinking she should be a different color. She's just your typical random girl with a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone.
I'd love some storylines! Anything goes.

I am bringing in this girl on the Irish side of things as "The Eve." This is Regan and is actually the little sister of brannen (Irish Capo). She never knew her Italian father as he ran off right after she was born and she harbors a strong hatred for him still to this day though she doesn't know of what her brother did so she isn't sure of where he ended up nor does she care. Regan, or Rae as she would rather be called, in one word is spoiled. "Give, take, want" or just batting her eyes and getting a bigger man to take care of the job for her is the way she makes it through a day. She is 27 and once her brother gained money he began the cycle that is her life. He is overprotective of her but that doesn't mean she is naive what so ever just... clueless on certain things and happenings.
She is pretty flirty, even if she has a boyfriend, basically it is just to get her way. Many people hate her but a good majority love or well respect her since she somehow always can get her way with almost anyone. She is honest and rarely beats around the bush unless it's for her own good.
I am still working out the kinks so I am definitely up for other lines, anything really. Just leave a comment and I'll reply since I still need to make her an AIM screen name.

READ THIS PLEASE
TO POTENTIAL/INCOMING MEMBERS: we wanted to be kind and let you know about the status of this current "war between mafias." Please read, and take note for your characters, and ask us if you have any questions.
BACKSTORY: The Italians run things. Everyone knows that. The Irish are what you'd call their nemesis. Italians hate the Irish, and mostly vice versa. What you don't know is that the Russians, who have been on okay terms with the Italians (and recently entered into a business deal with them as well), have secretly teamed up with the Irish in an effort to overthrow the Italians. The Irish are simply using the Russians are a means to an end - screwing them over, playing them for fools and what have you. The rumor, though, is that while the Irish are playing everyone, someone right underneath their nose is giving lots of information to the Russians and Italians. It's a giant triangle of everyone getting screwed over.
WHAT'S HAPPENED SO FAR: It started out very simple. The Italians began noticing that the Irish were getting some balls and wandering onto Italian turf. There were the usual threats and altercations.
- Last week, three masked intruders broke into the home of Nate and Leo Carducci (sons of the Italian boss), where their cousin Dante Cottero and his son and baby mama also happened to be staying. They came to steal a laptop with very important Carducci business information on it, and in the process woke the entire house up from a dead sleep. There were altercations, Nate shot one of the intruders, and believing him to be dead, the cousins chased after the two escaping intruders. They got away - without the laptop - and they returned to the house to find the third intruder still alive. He was killed, and the body was disposed of.
- The two intruders that got away were an as-yet-unnamed Russian, and Donel Hartigan Jr. (Irish). Through "clever detective work," the Italians discovered their identities, and with Dante, the Italian boss and underboss (Carducci and Cialoni) kidnapped the two and held them hostage in an undisclosed location. They were tortured, and interrogated.
- A couple days later, Nate Carducci was brutally attacked on his way home from work. He was injured severely and left to essentially die in front of the Carducci mansion. He remains hospitalized in the ICU at this time, although he's just come out of a coma. Nate has trouble remembering the incident - before yesterday, none of the Italians knew who attacked him. But just so you know, it was the Russian boss and a few of his men that did it.
- Yesterday, Dante and Leo came to the location where the hostages were held to "finish off the job." Carducci and Cialoni stood by and watched as they kicked the two around. In the process, they discovered that it was the Russians that attacked Nate, although it seems that the Irish had some knowledge beforehand of the plan. The third intruder killed by a Carducci? Happened to be the nephew of the Russian boss, and the attack on Nate was retribution. None of them knew it was his nephew until their hostages spilled the beans. Dante and Leo killed Hartigan Jr. and the still-unnamed Russian, and they were disposed of.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: Figure out what this means for your character, and use accordingly. USE THIS INFORMATION WISELY. Think about what your character may or may not be aware of. Not everything is common knowledge, but we are telling you, the writer, so you'll be aware of the current goings-on in the community. Things are VERY tense right now, between all mafias.
If someone wants to know in some way the Russian that was killed alongside Hartigan Jr., go for it - we just didn't have a name for him.
Ideally, it would be great if we could develop the Irish and Russian sides more. The Carducci family has a deep backstory, but not too much has been done with the other sides. Perhaps Irish/Russian characters could work together on this, using the information in this post? Especially the Russians!!!
Also, when you do join, use the threading community often - it doesn't always have to be threads, you can post AIM scenes and what not. But it's started to become a good source of information for all the writers, so everyone can be aware of what's going on with each mafia.
