Sirius was rapidly beginning to realize that things were not-so-good with the world anymore. Sure, growing up with the Blacks, he'd always had a pretty shite opinion of the state of the world at large, but lately? Lately he was realizing how fast things were going to bloody hell and back. It seemed that everytime he got done comforting one friend, another needed it. First, Lily's parents were murdered... then the news of James's father - his should-be-father falling ill - and most recently, the news that Remus's father was hospitalized after another attack.
WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK WAS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!!!?
Sirius was angry, lividly angry. People were fucked up in the head, and it seemed it was only gaining momentum. Truth be told, Sirius was scared. It was becoming harder and harder to laugh things off, harder and harder to pull a prank and think that thinks were alright in the world. But what would a life be, if you cannot find reasons to laugh?
None of this really mattered, for right now, Sirius was a man on a mission. Cheer up, or, at the very least, distract Remus from his worries. With James, Sirius would break out the firewhiskey and smokes, find an abandoned room somewhere, and just be. They'd drink, they'd smoke, they might talk a little about what was going on - but James and Sirius weren't typically the type of blokes who did those *feelings* talks.
Comforting Remus was proving to be a bit more difficult. Sirius knew that the other bloke would not think that firewhiskey and smokes is the best way of dealing with a problem. Sirius assumed that by attempting to spend the evening isolated with him and snogging him senseless might appear to be a bit heartless. But really, that's what he was good at - snogging, drinking, avoiding *talks*.
Feeling a bit out of his element, a bit confused as to the best course of action, Sirius charmed a note to find Remus and asked him to meet him in the clock tower. It was one of the places in the school that hardly anyone ever came to, and they could place enough hexes on the doors to keep people out and just.. sit there quietly, if needed. He figured, the least he could do, was get his mate away from the rest of the world and their superficial sympathies.
