Devi Patil was a quiet girl, for the most part, she had a few friends, many acquaintances, but she wasn't the most outgoing of types. When she was worried about something, she tended to keep it locked up, more than she ought. Such was the case lately, and Devi was quite sure she regretted burning that blasted note in the first place.
Worried wouldn't even begin to describe it. She'd already lost her cousin, Nikkita, and it seems all the deaths, injuries, and disappearances lately were related. But why? Why would anyone do such awful things to people? That was one thing that Devi's Ravenclaw mind could never comprehend - nor did she want to study it any.
Devi returned to the towers that evening, and it was luck that led her there. Or perhaps, just because she'd walked that path so many times since beginning at Hogwarts. she really could have done it in her sleep. Either way, Devi's mind was elsewhere, and somehow her feet manage to take her right where she needed to be.
There was a catch, though. Devi soon found herself being asked questions in order for her to gain entry into the tower. She just couldn't focus. After a few wrong answers - the first time she'd gotten any question wrong since her first year - Devi sighed and leaned against the wall defeated. Well this is embarassing, she thought as she waited for someone to "rescue" her and answer a question correctly so she could get to her room.
Perhaps she should write Summer in the journals, or Deshan - he could send Amala to her aide. Embarassed, sure, but she didn't want to seem helpless, so Devi sat down outside the corridor to the Ravenclaw Tower and pulled out her school work. She would wait (and at least attempt to accomplish something in the meantime).
