Every person needed a space which was completely and wholly their own. Tony Stark had grown up with all his needs being more than met in terms of space. He hadn't understood how much he took for granted until he'd arrived in Madison Valley as what amounted to a pauper. The Iron Pepper Casino had labs situated beneath it which he'd -apparently some version of himself or another- put together when he'd felt entitled to using the place's income as his own.
Tony had been trying to come to terms with his place in Madison since his arrival.
For better or worse, he was the version of Tony Stark in attendance at the moment which meant he needed to accept anything he had started and failed to delegate prior to his last departure? It was all his responsibility as much as it was his own whatever as he was the one and only Tony Stark in Madison. If he wasn't meant to use the lab he'd set up for himself, who was?
No one had moved into his space while he was absent under the dome.
All the others who might have used the lab space had their own. They didn't need the one he was using.
"Peter! I'm glad you dropped in. I've been working on some ideas just rattling around in my head. I think I need to stop trying to find a way to reroute Friday though. I'm depressing myself with the attempt and there are people here with functional AIs who need my help. How was school?"
Tony worried about whether or not Peter was handling school in Madison well. There was no doubt the kid was too smart for his own good. It was the other students Tony wasn't sure about. He didn't think Peter was bullied as much as he wondered if he was bored with it all or felt suffocated in the classroom with students who weren't academically equal to him.
