She hadn't completely stopped talking to Tim. Charlie was cordial and also a respectful employee. She wasn't mad at him by any means. Things were just weird now.
It seemed whenever the Dome decided to grace its residents with something to keep it entertained, they were continually pulled together. It didn't help that, after returning from her time home, she'd had something of a more physical relationship with Tim. Truthfully, Charlie hadn't felt right about just leaving it and him. Or had he been the one who dropped everything?
Too much thinking on it left Charlie frustrated and further inclined to keep feelings and emotions away from people. Most people anyway. Then again, she'd never been good at sharing and expressing her feelings. It wasn't something she often did even in her younger years. Not after losing her father.
Emptying the last coin bucket into the coin machine, Charlie was trying to manage a stack of buckets with an 'Out of Order' sign around her neck and a fried processor in her other hand. It had been one of those days and as much as she wanted to tear the processor apart to piece it back together, she was also looking forward to getting home. There'd been whispers of York cooking and that alone was enough to make her stomach growl.
