Who: Ned Leeds and Emma Carstairs When: Sunday Afternoon Where: Convenience Store What: Ned is bullied, Emma is not the bully Rating: Some bullying Status: Match-up
The whole Daylight Savings Time thing had messed with Ned's system. He had woken up an hour earlier than he should have and so by the afternoon he was already tired. Still, in theory, he like the concept of having more time to sleep. He knew in general that didn't really apply to him - he just used it as an excuse to stay up later to play video games.
Today he felt like a pick-me-up. He found himself entering one of the convenience stores and couldn't decide if he wanted a Slushie, a chocolate bar, or a taquito. They were three very different things and he told himself he wasn't going to have all three because that was ridiculous.
And then he ended up with all three.
He was at the Slushie station filling up his cup with cherry and then blue raspberry and he was considering adding lime when someone approached.
"Leeds. Trying to get a head start on diabetes?"
Ned knew that voice from school. It was a guy that reminded him a lot of Flash, only at least Flash had some good qualities. He didn't think Gary Summerton had any redeeming qualities at all. He turned and faced the jock with a forced smile. "Hey Gary."
"Hey Gary" He mocked in a falsetto. Ned continued to smile a forced smile like smiling at a bully might make him go away. This only seemed to anger Gary more and Gary frowned. "I should help you out. I'm concerned for your health."
Gary reached out and knocked Ned's big cup of Slushie. The red and blue cold liquid splashed onto Ned, covering him, before the cup bounced on the floor. Gary started to laugh and Ned was freezing and humiliated.
