Jughead wasn't likely to forget anytime soon the tidbits Mal had dropped on him. Hades was her father, which was honestly more cool than scary, but the bigger thing was that she was engaged. It wasn't surprising really, since what little he knew of Ben kind of reminded him of Archie. Jug was definitely more of a VK himself, would no doubt have been an Isle kid if he'd been part of Mal's world. Ben was to Mal as Betty was to him, which wasn't necessarily easy to think about but it did put things into perspective. He couldn't begrudge her that, even if now he was considering the merits of proposing to her here. They were definitely too young to be married, but there was a part of him that wanted to do it anyway.
They'd settled on the couch to watch some horror movies, a bowl of popcorn on his lap and one arm slung around her shoulders. "You know, I really wish there were smart people in these horror movies. They're all just dumb. I mean, if given the choice between going into the dark basement or, I don't know, leaving the house? I mean, it wouldn't make for much of a movie, but the writers could be a little more creative," Jug complained after he popped a few more kernels into his mouth. "Don't you think it'd be scarier if the people were actually making all the right choices?"
If she wanted a night of movies and cuddling, just the two of them, that was what she was going to get. He'd sort of kicked Faith and his dad out, pretty much just told them to stay at the bar til closing and they'd be out of the living room by then. His dad was usually pretty cool about that stuff so he figured it'd be alright.
