There was something undeniably sexy about the way his voice lowered and Elena couldn't resist going up on her tiptoes to brush her lips against his. She wasn't normally so bold, especially in public, but she was feeling impulsive. Had she noticed that Enjolras was also attending the event, she might have been a bit more circumspect. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, she was too caught up in her conversation with Grantaire to notice.

She didn't linger on the kiss, not wanting to seem too forward, though she also didn't move away too far in case he was interested in continuing.
