Jane F & Peter P
"It's not," she promised. Jane smiled as she stood up and pulled Peter to his feet. "Come on, I'll introduce you to my brother. He'll be thrilled to meet you." It would also give her an opportunity to call her boyfriend and give him the heads up, although she really wasn't worried about it being a problem. Just awkward, but Ty rarely said no to her about anything.
She kept her hand on Peter's and the postcard in her other hand as she scanned the room for her brother. He was tall and lanky, and possibly the only one in the room wearing a bowtie, so he was easy to spot. "We work together, he's almost as smart as I am," Jane explained with a slight grin. Just like any pair of siblings, they each thought they were better than the other. "And while you get to know him, I'll call my boyfriend and get everything squared away. It'll work out," she promised. "I won't abandon you again." She squeezed his hand as if to prove her point. It wasn't going to be easy, probably wouldn't even be perfect, but she would figure it out for him. She owed it to him.
