Mary kind of figured people would be looking at her like she was looking at them. If they were unaffected, they would be trying to figure out if she was affected. It was amusing actually and something that could only happen in Madison Valley. Mary felt eyes on her as soon as she claimed a seat and started to pick at her food.
She spared a glance over at him, catching his eye briefly before turning back to her plate. He was totally studying her to see if she was under the spell or whatever this place had put on some of the residents. She took another bite of food before deciding to address him.
"I'm flattered to be your focus in a room full of all these amazingly beautiful people, but I doubt you are looking at me because of the dress," Mary commented.
