WHO Keith Kogane & Kim Possible WHAT Finding something fun to do WHEN Backdated to Friday, Oct 4 WHERE Los Cabos, Mexico WARNINGS TBD but none really STATUS Closed | Incomplete Gdoc
Kim was definitely excited to travel to Los Cabos. She hadn't really looked into it at all, since Lance had arranged everything and Molly'd just told them to pack for sandy beaches and warm weather. When they'd arrived at the resort, Kim instantly felt so out of place in her jeans and crop top. It looked super fancy and super expensive, especially once she realized they basically had a house all to themselves. Or rather, a mansion. She'd gotten herself settled in her room, told the others to go on ahead, that she'd catch up, and waited until she was sure they'd left to creep out of her room.
It didn't seem weird at all to see that Keith was still there, too.
"This is weird, right?" she asked as she walked over to where he was. "Like. This is way too fancy for us. What the hell was Lance thinking?" Surely he had to be as uncomfortable as she was about the whole thing.
For Keith it seemed like the typical Lance kind of thing to do. Make sure to pick a place that he thought would impress the hell out of Molly. He might have been uncomfortable with things if he hadn't just spent the time traveling in the castle of lions. Now that he was used to that he could ignore his surroundings better.
"He's just trying to impress Molly." He was ignoring the crazy fanciness but that meant he wasn't touching anything or using anything. "Either that or traveling in a castle has gone to his head. It's kind of a toss up to which it is with Lance to be honest."
She supposed he was right about that. Lance was the sort of guy who thought fancy stuff would impress Molly, and he was right, but it was only part of the equation. Kim definitely thought there was more, or should be more, than that to a relationship. Still, a vacation was a vacation and she did want to enjoy herself. It was just taking her a bit to adjust to their surroundings.
"I guess it really could go either way. Probably more of his head being big," she replied as she stood next to him. "Okay. We should...I don't know. Break the place in, or something." She waited for a moment and surveyed the pristine look of all the seats. Kim grinned at him and then took a bit of a running leap to jump on the couch. When the world didn't explode, she looked at him with a bigger grin. "So, clearly we can actually sit on them. That's a good sign, right?"
"He'll figure it out. Probably." Keith made a face because he wasn't sure if he actually believed that or not but remembering how sometimes there was that moment that Lance was serious and it showed that he thought deeper than it looked and he sighed. "Yeah, he'll figure it out."
And if not Molly would tell him what he was doing wrong.
"I would say being able to sit on the furniture is definitely a good sign." She'd acted for a minute like she'd expected the couch to buck her off so my smiled and walked over to sit down next to her. "You know there's probably things we can do around here that aren't sitting around by the pool too. But they're not like doing the daily practice or anything so they might be different. And fun. I hear the fun part is important."
Kim snorted. He didn't actually believe that. She could tell just by the look on his face. Still, she shifted a bit so she wasn't sitting right in the middle of the couch when he came to sit next to her. "I definitely prefer more active vacations, so not sitting around the pool for hours on end would be a plus. I don't know how into leaving the pool Molly and Shuri will be, but if we find some cool stuff we want to do, there's no reason we can't ditch them for a couple hours, right?"
That wouldn't actually mean anything, if they ducked out from the whole group thing once or twice. Kim had made her interest in him known, but she didn't need to have that kind of relationship with Keith to like him. Even just spending time with him, being friends with him, was a lot better than not being around him at all, or not being able to hang out with her friends while they spent time with their boyfriends. Even if Shuri and Hunk wouldn't admit that they liked each other like that, Kim could tell. She could tell a lot of things about a lot of people, which was why she was more focused on being Keith's friend right now. That was what he needed.
"Is it really ditching them if they don't want to go? Plus they'll probably like it if we leave them alone sometimes." Keith was pretty dense but he could see that Hunk and Shuri really liked each other and maybe if they had some alone time they could actually admit it and do something about it. He'd like to see both of them being happy and having a life since they were good at it. It was also easier than figuring his own life out.
He was glad Kim was his friend. It made dealing with all of this a lot easier even if that was a source of confusion. "So we can maybe plan to go do some non sitting around things and let them have time together and then we join back up so they don't think we're abandoning them the whole vacation."
"I mean, it's still kind of ditching them, but in a socially acceptable way," Kim answered. She didn't think at all that the others would mind. Shuri and Molly got that she was more on the active and adventurous side, so they wouldn't mind. They might even tease her a bit about always spending time with Keith, but Kim knew she could handle it. No doubt better than he would when his friends ribbed him over it.
"Well, why wait? I'll go grab my laptop and you find us a snack. Meet you back here in five minutes." She was eager to see what was what and to make a plan, that way she wouldn't have to wonder what they might do and when. Plus, if they got to look together, it would save time on any back and forth. Kim didn't exactly give him a chance to say no though because she was up and already headed to her room to grab her laptop just after she finished suggesting the plan.
"Oh um...okay..." Keith hadn't realized that she was going to just jump up and go for the laptop so he was left there blinking for a few seconds when she did. Okay she said to find them a snack. When his brain kick started again he got up and went for the kitchen so he wouldn't still be sitting there when she came back with her laptop.
There was so much food in the kitchen it was hard to figure out what to get so he just grabbed a bowl from the counter filled with fruit, a couple of bottles of juice and some little bags of nuts to bring back to the couch. It was kind of an armful but it was good to have choices.
"I wasn't sure what you'd want." He put the food on the table in front of the couch when he got back. "But I thought fruit was always good."
She'd taken her time getting her laptop, mostly to actually give him a chance to get snacks as requested since her journey was much shorter than his. Kim was still able to get settled on the couch with her laptop up and connected to the Wifi before he came back, arms filled with food. He'd definitely picked right, something sweet but still healthy. It was a great choice, especially since she was sure there was plenty of junk food to pick from, too.
"Fruit is always good. And you know what else is good? They've got a ropes course here! We might not even have to travel very far at all to have some fun." She turned the computer a bit so that when he sat down next to her, he'd be able to see the info she'd pulled up on the options they had at their disposal here, without having to try too hard.
There definitely was no lack of junk food to pick from but if they were going to go out and do something active he had thought that might be a bad choice. Nothing said testing a friendship like getting sick while you were supposed to be having fun.
Keith picked out an apple and took a bit before he leaned over to see what she'd pulled up on her screen. Sitting like this it meant they were almost shoulder to shoulder but he was busy looking through their options and didn't really notice they were sitting that close. "That looks like it could be a good challenge. It looks like they have a rock wall too." There might be actual rocks to climb too. They could look into that.
Kim nodded along in agreement. It definitely looked like a ton of fun, which she was grateful for. Then she wouldn't feel so bad about ditching their friends if they were still on property. "They've got different levels, so hopefully the more intense ones will be a challenge for us. At the very least, we can race and make them more challenging for ourselves if we want. Nothing like running with your hands tied behind your back or something." She grinned at the thought of basically spending the afternoon one upping each other.
"Do you want to try that first and then we can chec out something else? I mean, we can always go down to the beach and surf or something. I wonder if they have snorkeling or scuba diving..." Kim trailed off as she opened another browser tab to see if it was something the resort did without losing her place on the ropes course info.
