The cooling liquid was starting to get kind of cold now. It was so weird that heated liquid could make you so cold. Ned, of course, understood the science behind why it happened, but it didn't mean it wasn't still weird or fascinating. When the stranger offered the napkins, Ned took them with a bit of a sheepish 'thank you' smile and started to dab - his mom was all about the dabbing instead of wiping. It helped a little, but obviously the stain would remain until, hopefully, it came out in the wash.
"Uh." He looked down at himself - he looked super pathetic - and then to his coffee which was mostly gone. And he was still exhausted. "Yeah, okay, sure. I mean. That's really nice of you? Back home in New York I'm pretty sure no one would have even stopped or noticed, so, thanks."
