Who: Adam Vasic & Llewellyn Cornick What: Date night Where: Llew's place When: last night Warnings: nope Status: started in gdocs; will continue in comments
As much as Adam liked his housemates, he appreciated having a quiet place to escape to sometimes, especially when that quiet place involved a very attractive redhead that he was lucky enough to be dating. It took him a long time after Savannah’s departure from town to even think about committing to another person. Llewellyn was worth it though.
Tonight he’d come over with Chinese takeout and a six pack of beer. He was settled on her sofa, his feet up on the coffee table, and gave her a lazy grin. “So, are we going to Netflix and chill as the kids say?”
Things hadn’t changed too much, beyond her seeing him more often. And she was glad things hadn’t gotten weird or anything, she rather liked Adam and being a good escape from his house for a bit. She was leaning back, one leg tucked under her, the other up on the coffee table, happy to be relaxing in shorts and a tank top. She ran cold, but she liked it that way, so this was the start of her season.
“Oh god, please do not ever say it like that ever again.” she laughed as she threatened him, playfully, with chopsticks, “You make think we’re really, really old when you say it with ‘as the kids say’” she shook her head at him and rolled her eyes. “But, I mean, unless you had any pressing desire to leave the house?”
“I’m actually pretty sure that’s not even what they say anymore,” Adam admitted, dodging her chopsticks and leaning in to steal a kiss. “But honestly? I don’t want to know if Star is up to anything remotely like that, so I don’t ask questions.” He was glad that the school handled sex ed and hoped that it was not something he ever had to discuss with his ward.
Adam was wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, had kicked off his shoes as soon as he arrived, and was comfortable despite the fact that his powers made him run a bit warmer than the average person.
She laughed as he leaned in to steal a kiss after dodging her chopsticks. “Please do not ask Star those questions. I am not sure you want the answers, and I am worried that she might ask you more questions and it’s just a spiral of awkward.” she leaned back to kiss him again, grinning a bit.
They were an interesting pair, opposites in terms of demon heritage, he was hot, she was cold, and she liked it that way. They balanced and it made her feel comfortable. She stretched backwards and grinned. “Okay so what are we gonna watch? And by watch I mean probably ignore half of?”
Adam chuckled. “Why Ms. Cornick, are you implying that you’re going to take advantage of my virtue?” he asked. As if he had any left. He appreciated that Llewellyn enjoyed his jokes, or at least pretended that she did.
“Uh, I don’t know? Do we want to do something scary since it’s almost Halloween season?” It was a little weird walking into the stores and seeing massive displays of pumpkins and skulls since it was still pretty warm out, but that seemed to be par for the course with retail.
She fluttered her lashes innocently, "What would you do if I said yes, Mr. Vasic?" She said, her voice dripping with honey. She didn't believe for a moment he had any virtue left. Nor was she innocent either. She did, however, enjoy his jokes.
"Mmm we can do that yes. A classic then?" She flipped through the list, "holiday creep starts sooner every year I swear. But hey at Halloween I can run around as myself and no one cares."
At least someone thought Adam was funny. Paige always just smacked him when he made his bad jokes. Of course, he also appreciated that Llew was willing to play along with him. Despite being nearly forty years old, Adam was still a big kid at heart.
“True,” he said. “I mean, at this point, the entirety of October is considered Halloween, so you’ve got a whole month.”
