Zari Tomaz & John Wick
"Yes," John answered simply, "I would very much like to meet again with several of the women I've spoken to tonight. One has knowledge of dragons from her homeland. One was the first person I met here in Madison upon my arrival. One offered me a drink -which I find compelling even if I rarely imbibe- at her bar. I have been fortunate tonight. My ward did a good thing by signing me up."
John would thank Belle for her thoughtfulness. He hadn't found someone who made him want to forget his Helen, but he'd never want to forget Helen. That was not a matter of time for him. There would never be enough time for John to grieve away his love for his wife. What he was beginning to understand? There would come a time when he would be ready to live alongside another woman again.
Helen would have wanted that for him. It was why she'd sent him Daisy.
She knew he needed someone to love---someone other than his car.
The bell sounded and John stood to offer a bow, "I thank you for your company. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to speak further in the future. I do not believe anyone here can have too many partners for conversation."
