Who: Jessica Jones and Jesse Pinkman What: Coming to check up on Jesse after work. When: Monday evening Where: Jesse's place Rating: TBD Status: Closed; Incomplete
When Jessica saw Jesse's post on the network, her stomach dropped and she felt sick. While Trish's spiral had been less noticeable at first, Jesse's was a clear indication that something was bothering him. Jessica knew he was a recovering drug addict and while he was stronger and more capable than he'd been, she knew certain things could still set him off in that deadly direction. Jessica hardly claimed to be the picture of mental stability in any way, but she had never touched drugs and Malcolm could testify to her ability to sober someone up in less than a week's time. Obviously, she hoped her methods would be needed when she saw Jesse after work tonight. While Jessica tried to avoid drama, problems, if she could, when it came to people she cared about, she was not afraid of running straight into the thick of what was causing them pain.
After dropping off her equipment at her apartment, Jessica stopped by a gas station on the way to Jesse's house. She picked up a bottle of whiskey and even splurged on some tequila since she noticed he had a preference for the lighter colored stuff once and a while. She also bought a frozen pepperoni pizza since she knew neither of them were apt in the kitchen and cooking was the last thing she was thinking of doing when she saw him. Packages in hand, she covered the short distance to his place and using the key he gave her, she let herself in.
Though always seemingly calm on the outside, Jessica could not shake the small bit of panic settled in the pit of her stomach. Had she waited too long? He assured her he would be okay until she got off work, but that was a classic Trish move too, assuring Jess she could handle herself up until the point where it was fucking clear as day she couldn't. Jessica dumped the stuff on the table and headed for the living room.
"Jesse? Jesse, you better be okay or I am going to kick your ass." Jessica would never harm him though and they both knew it. If anything, she'd die defending him, but that was a bit too corny of a line to ever admit to.
