A few clouds marred the sky with an ominous tint to them which had Peter pulling at his goggles to reassure himself they were still around his neck. His mutation allowed him to get basically anywhere he wanted to go faster than most could imagine, but his eyes were vulnerable to any kind of debris. Raindrops might seem harmless to most, but while moving at speeds which broke the sound barrier? Well. They weren't so easy to dismiss.
Peter had zero interest in being blind.
Kicking his feet against the base of the fountain he was settled on, Peter looked out at the people enjoying the park while the weather was nice enough for it. There were people with kids or dogs and he was pretty sure he'd seen the same businessman reading the paper on the bench the day before. It could be his routine: lunch in the park with the paper then back to whatever place he worked in. That seemed nice.
Peter had never been one for routines unless routinely skipping school or stealing counted.
Deciding he would rather be safe than sorry, Peter raised his goggles to cover his eyes and took a quick run around the park's walking trail before coming back to seat himself again on the edge of the fountain. He was surprised so many people were around for the midday hours. The weekdays usually meant the park would be sparsely populated at best until after 5 PM. Peter worked only when he was given a delivery which meant his own hours were much more flexible. He drew one leg up to wrap his arms around it, wishing he had something better to do with his time than watch other people enjoy the park.
