Penny wasn't entirely sure she liked Madison Valley anymore, not after the pod thing. That'd been scary. But she liked the people she'd met, so that made the place mostly okay. She supposed that was good enough. And school wasn't so bad, so that was a point in its favor too. Actually, that was a lot of points in its favor because going to school without Secret Service agents following her was now officially one of her favorite things ever, even if she was your typical pre-teen who didn't exactly like school.
But she didn't hate it, either, not as long as she got to be herself. And not as long as Garcia let her do what she wanted -- in terms of going to the library and doing her homework, and hanging out with friends if she made them, stuff like that. She knew there were actual rules to follow, no duh. Of course there were. Penny knew how to follow rules. She just wanted a little independence, something it felt like she hadn't had in forever. She was trying to be a good kid, though, she really was.
Which was why she was tucked away at the library with her homework -- yay, grade school homework so soon -- and a small stack of books in general. Reading had kind of become one of her best friends back home, because it'd been really really hard to have friends. She didn't care what people thought of her or family, but at the same time? It'd really sucked to hear people not liking her dad. So at least that part of being here was a good thing, even if it did make her feel a little disloyal.
Sighing, she pushed her chair back, intending to get up and go put a book on the go-back cart -- only to end up just knocking into someone, instead. "Oh, no! I'm sorry!"
