Maria DeLuca & Derek Morgan
Being the owner of a bar and running people out of her space was something she had been doing since before she had graduated high school. Being the daughter of a single mom and having her own unique abilities gave her a lot of ways of feeling people out and deciding what conversations to shy away from. She wasn't getting any warning signals from this man. Plus, he wasn't hard on the eyes. Just because she was fighting with her feelings for someone didn't mean she was blind.
"I think that there are some occasions where you need to put the logical thoughts from where you come from on the back burner and go with your heart," she said after a long moment. She took a drink from her glass. "While it's true that once you do something you can't change it, I don't think that's always a bad thing. Maybe being brought to this place was meant to give us the chance to live a different life than we live back home. I've heard that there are people here that have fallen in love or formed lasting relationships with people that they would never have known back in their world."
She shrugged and looked at him steadily. "You have a chance here to reach for something that you can't have at home. Why would you let that hold you back if you're given the ability to love or have here?"
