WHO: Max Evans and OPEN WHAT: Getting a drink WHEN: Today WHERE: Convenient Store WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Open/Ongoing
Max wasn't the world's biggest fan of Madison Valley. Sure, he hadn't been here all that long yet, but to be honest, the place made him a little nervous. It was kind of ironic, really. There were so many different sorts of supernatural people here, who were all comfortable and didn't hide what they were. It was kind of what he'd always dreamed of. But instead of making him declare his 'otherness', it just made him uncomfortable. After all, this place was small, and nobody could leave of their own free will, so if people suddenly decided to come after them they wouldn't have anywhere to hide.
He hadn't outed himself to anyone, really, or at least only a very few who needed to know and who he'd sworn to secrecy. He'd just kept his secrets too long to let them go so easily.
He also wasn't sure if he'd ever get used to the humidity here. Sure, it was hot in Roswell, but not like this. Here it was...sweltering. He'd take the dry heat any day.
Ducking out of the sauna that was the outside, and into the comfortable air conditioning of the little convenient store, he immediately went to the back cooler and grabbed the biggest coke he could find. It was one of those giant liter bottles, but he was pretty sure he could finish it before he even got back to the apartments. At least, that was what his very thirsty brain was telling him.
As he headed to the front to pay, he noticed the kid in front of him - maybe five or six - didn't have enough money to pay for his slushie. Max caught the eye of the cashier and indicated the kid, giving him a little nod that said he'd pay for it with his. The cashier agreed, and took the money the kid had been able to come up with before the kid ran out, happy. He'd done his good deed for the day, anyway. He only had a couple more years of them before he could start to make up for what he'd done to Liz's family by covering up Rosa's death.
