The last thing Violet remembered was feeling a bit under the weather after John had kissed her. It had been a very nice kiss, one that had caught her by surprise more than anything, but the next thing she remembered after that was waking up in her bed, surrounded by dead vegetation. Death had been there to soothe the very jarring experience, for which Vi was incredibly grateful for. However, it did make her wonder what John's own experience had been like, since surely he had woken up in a similar state.
Whatever her clone had done, Violet had no memory of it, so she could only assume that he had no memories of it either. That was a good thing, since he wouldn't know about the kiss, but she was concerned about what kind of impact it might have on him to have been a pod person. There probably hadn't been anything he could do to prevent it given it had seemingly taken over so many of the residents, but that would also probably be little comfort to him.
So she went to the store to get sandwiches and trusted he had alcohol in his apartment that they could drink since that was kind of their thing. She brought the food, he had the drinks, and the'd sit and chat like usual. Maybe it would help make things feel normal, something she really, really wanted to get back to. It just didn't feel right lately between them, and she'd been thinking way too much about Death's words of advice about not assuming how John did or didn't feel. Sharing a meal with him in a friend-type of way would go a long way in prove to their mutual friend that there wasn't anything there between them. No matter how much she wished that the kiss hadn't been just about infecting her.
Violet stood in front of his door for a minute, grocery bag in hand that held two pre-made sandwiches since she knew what he liked by now, and glanced down at her outfit. Sneakers, jeans, a simple t-shirt. It wasn't anything special, even if her t-shirt did fit quite snugly, That was just how t-shirts were. It didn't mean anything, or so she told herself. She tucked some of her hair behind her ear and then knocked on his door. Hopefully it would turn out okay.
"Hey," she greeted, hesitant but hopeful that he would be happy to see her.
