William needed a drink, or four, yet with the task still at hand there was no real time to stop off at the pub. Plus skipping the nursery altogether wasn't in the cards since the vamp had already spent so much energy on trying to get that damn hanging herb planter up to begin with too. Just standing around here though, chatting with the boy who was dating Spike's step sister, just didn't sound so terribly appealing either.
Oh Carl really was a good kid, and if Dawn had to date anyone...which the blonde still wasn't sure why they didn't just lock her away in her room till she was twenty five or something...well Grimes was on the top of the list of young folks that the vampire earnestly didn't mind. Even now, hearing the kid trying to take the blame for Spike's temper, just both annoyed the old vampire, and warmed his unbeating heart for the boy too.
"Look, I don't like you. I mean, well I do. But I wouldn't like anyone the Niblet was dating. Still you're one of the good ones, so yeah. I'm serious, Carl. Find someone with the mojo to make it work and I will give you an eye. Till then, I have some errands left to run before I can take a little nap. So...sod it, just swing by for dinner or something tonight if you are up for it. I'm not sure what I will be cooking, but I know Dawn like spending time with you, so you may as well spend some of that time at our place."
