Who: Clark Kent and Kara Barnes What: Checking in When: Thursday afternoon Where: Details Matter Warnings: TBD Status: Closed/On-going
For the most part, Clark tried to stay out of his cousin’s personal life. He didn’t appreciate hovering and was sure she wouldn’t either, especially when going through a difficult time. He’d made it clear that he was there for her, that all she had to do was say the word, and he’d checked in from time to time to make sure she hadn’t forgotten that. She hadn’t taken him up on anything yet, and he wasn’t going to pressure her into it. But there was no reason why he couldn’t spend some quality time with his cousin and remind her he was there for her sometimes.
He’d grabbed a couple of coffees before just turning up at her office, his usual cheerful smile firmly in place despite the grief he was still processing himself. His ward had been someone important to him, someone he’d cared about deeply, as close to a daughter as he expected he’d ever have. But what Kara was going through was hard in its own way, too, and it helped him to help her.
“Hey.” Waving the coffee at her enticingly as he approached her desk, knowing it was close to the end of her day anyway. “Think you can slip away early and take a walk?”
