He did appreciate her enthusiasm and she had a point. After the number of weddings he'd had in his life, he wasn't interested in any wedding that was his own but he didn't mind others'. "My niece is dating the groom's nephew," he explained. "It was only right to come and support them." He did also appreciate that they'd managed to find love even through what the dome often decided to throw at them all. That was, in his mind, a testament to how strong their relationship was.
"We don't have too many weddings among the refugees. Maybe one or two a year. It's nice to see it when it does happen." At least, the big party ones. Some people opted for smaller ceremonies, he was sure, but those were less publicized. "I'll stay a little while longer and then leave my niece to carry out our social obligations. She'll be here for as long as her boyfriend is, I suspect."
