The wine glass in Jill's hand, however, definitely had wine because holy shit she'd been there long enough for her to actually be old enough for that. Just like holy shit, she'd actually known Johnny that long. Five years of having the big brother she'd never known (and only briefly; she barely even missed Andre most days now) to complain that the Guardian thing was stupid, and to give her ridiculous Barbies, and to give her a place to live nonetheless because he and Izzy wouldn't hear anything less about it.
(She'd moved out on her own, but that'd been good timing and not anything else.)
She swooped in for a hug, being careful not to spill on him. "Oh my God, I am so proud of you for being an adult!"
Jill was the bratty little sister, Sue was the responsible big sister. It was how the division of responsibilities worked.
